I have Windows XP media center edition. I've heard that you can record tv, but i dont no how to, as far as i no, u need a tv tuner. how much does one cost? where do i get it? will it work with directv? how does it work? where does it plug in to? would it still work if i upgrade my directv reciever to HD?

Yes you need a TV tuner. You can get a video card with an HD tuner built in or a HD tuner card. It does not work with DirecTV. DirecTV trainers have told me they were working on a PC card for DirecTV about 8 months ago but I've had no update since.
