How do I get my speakers to work?

How do I get these external TV speakers to work?

• I recently obtained a stereo system (fairly primitive for today's technology) that I hooked up to my TV. I have two speakers for it that are hooked to the stereo system via sound wire or whatever it is called (like that copper wire that is placed in the back of the speakers and the stereo system). Anyway, when I play music from the radio, the sound comes out great from both speakers, but when I turn on the TV, sound will only come out of one of the speakers and the other speaker creates a buzzing annoying noise. The stereo system is connected to the TV by a cable with a white, yellow, and red attachment on each end. I've checked all of the connections but it still will not work. What should I do?

  I don't know how old your stereo is but make sure the t.v is running into an input on you stereo. Sometimes it will say t.v/sat. Make sure your t.v is plugged into an input like that, you can even plug into the dvd/ld or the cd or the aux, just make sure it's an input. Those cords you have are fine, you don't need the yellow one though (yellow carries video, which your stereo doesn't play) Also make sure the white is connected to the white plug in and red to red. If not you may need to get a new stereo which don't cost a whole lot if you shop right. Good luck!
