Sub-woofer doesn't work on surround sound in home theater.?
-
I have the Yamaha RX-B467 and a 5.1 surround sound speaker set (JVC SX-W6555S). I have the speakers set up and working, but my subwoofer doesn't work. Its an active sub and its receiving power. I also have a splitter attached to the cable from the pre-out to the left and right line in's on my subwoofer. I'd really like to get this to work, but I don't know much about audio. Any help is appreciated. It could be installation or something else. Thank you for your help.

Answer:
Are you definitely plugged into the 'subwoofer' output on the amp? If so, unplug the cable and touch the pin of the plug with your finger. You should hear a buzz from the sub. If not check the volume control on the sub. If none of that works - could be that the sub is faulty.
