What do you think of this surround sound system?

How do I get video from my surround sound system to my PC?

  • Ok, here's a scoop on what's going on. My surround sound speakers are my speakers for my computer. I have a smaller TV than my PC monitor, so I want to watch DVD's on my computer but still benefit from the actual surround sound my system has. I have video going from my PC to my surround sound system, so I can watch DVD's on my computer and have it come out the speakers from the system. It isn't surround sound though, because in order to get surround from DVD's, the DVD has to be played on the surround sound system. In that case, I have audio from the DVD if I play it in the system, but no video because it's not connected to my PC. What am I going to need to hook up the SSS to my PC and have it play on my PC monitor instead of through my smaller TV? It's a pretty new Acer monitor, 22" LCD. I don't think I hook it up directly to the monitor though, so does it have to go into a jack in my PC?

  • Answer:

I think I know what you are talking about, but its still very unclear on how your current setup is. I think pretty much you have a surround sound system but want to use a monitor as a TV. If that's the case just get a "VGA Box."
