You can get more reasonably priced hdmi cables if you look. Around here Newegg has Rosewill brand hdmi cables, they're not too expensive, but that probably won't do you much good sorry. You might run into really cheap cables that are defective once in a while, but generally I've found the expensive cables aren't noticeably better than the cheap ones.

You can buy an HDMI cable online for around $10. You have to look at your own laptop and see what type of video and audio output is provides. You haven't search enough. There are lots of cheap HDMI cables available. Expensive brand like monster is ridiculously expensive. Go to computer and electronic shops. HDMI is good!
