What do I need to connect my HD LCD TV to my computer so I can show movies etc on my tv from the computer.?
-
computer has normal standard type outputs like VGA/Serial/Parallel. I understand the output mightnt be great but i'd like to play music and video to the tv from the computer

Answer:
if it's an HDTV, it should have a VGA cable input. if not, it will probably have a DVI input. If it's VGA, it's simple. Buy a VGA cable, plug it into your PC, plug the other end into the TV, and run a 3.5mm to RCA cable to the TV for audio. If it has a DVI input and your computer has a DVI cable output, do the same thing, but instead of a VGA cable, use a DVI cable. If your computer does not have DVI outputs, use a DVI to VGA adapter on your TV
