What do you think of this surround sound system?

Need Audio Cable Help With My Surround Sound System!?

• I bought a panasonic surround sound system, I have an Olevia 237V TV...so here we go! I connect my surround sound system to my tv via an hdmi connection...good to go! i connected an optical cable to my tv and was told that anything that comes on my tv...ps3, cable box, etc., will play through my surround sound...but no audio comes out through my surround sound. I plugged the optical cable into my ps3 and it works with my surround sound, so the cable itself is not the problem...i called olevia, they said that i needed to add the "red & white" audio cable to my tv from my surround sound system and it should work! I don't think i will be getting sound from the optical, just the "red & white"...and that's not what i want. I think the optical cable should be all i need for sound??? I have turned the speakers on my tv off when i connected the optical cable and still nothing...i need some help!!!

  Here's how you need to do it and it is dependant on your receiver. I'm assuming the Panny surround system is an HTIB without an HDMI. if so then you need to: Video PS3 to TV via HDMI Audio PS3 to Panny via optical/coaxial (orange)
