What is the best wireless surrond sound system to buy under $200.?

I want to buy a high quality sound system?

  • Hi, thanks for the help. I'm looking to get some high quality, good sounding speakers to play from laptop or my mp3 (cowon). I listen mainly to techno/house/dance music and some hip hop on the side. The rooms i will be playing music in will be small - average sized living rooms. My budget begins at 200, and i am willing to go up to 500 if the quality is there. I have have a huge itch for bad sound when it comes to my music. At first i was looking to get bookshelf speakers with a receiver. Then my uncle told me its better to get a 2.1 system because with my budget the receiver would be ****. So i looked into 2.1 systems and found klipsch pro media and logitech z2300 to be best. However, I am still unsure if i really want 2.1, I've had a lot of experiences with receiver/bookshelf speakers and they sound better than the computer speakers ive heard, even though ive had low quality 2.1's. My last was a logitech 5.1 i bought for around 100 and that was really disappointing. Even with my headphones i have a really nice pair of klipsch, and I'm looking for the same or even better with these speakers. Sound quality > loudness. I want it to fill up rooms clearly

  • Answer:

Logitech speakers are computer speakers. They are designed to surround 1 person at a desk to give him sound. They are NOT room-filling - but idiots often try to over-drive them into filling a room with sound for friends/family - then have to replace them in a few months because they wear them out. Frankly - your $200-$500 is not enough for anything decent. "Quality" and "bad sound" and "$500" budget are not really compatible. So - you have to get creative and find used-but-decent gear. Get your money together and hit your local Craigslist. Look for this: * A Dolby Digital AV Receiver. Yes you want a 5.1 receiver. This thing is a power-plant for 5 speakers - it will probably be able to run 2 speakers at high volumes for hours without over-heating. They have been making them for 15 years and as long as you look for names like Yamaha, Dennon, Sony ES, Pioneer Elite - you will be getting decent gear. You can find these for $100-$200. * Subwoofer - yeah - techo/house/dance is all about the BASS. But decent subs start at about $600 and go up from there. You should find a self-powered subwoofer on Craigslist. Or go to www.partsexpress.com and check out the Dayton Audio subwoofer kits. When you build your own - you save about half the price of a new sub and you learn a bit about speakers. * Speakers - you may find 2, but more likely you will find a home theater speaker set of 5. You can find older, inexpensive speaker sets for a few hundred bucks. I know - you are impatient. You just want to go buy some piece of crap - but you will have buyers remorse if you do this. Take some time and study used gear and you CAN put together a decent 2-channel sound system for that budget. Good Luck.

After coming to terms with the fact that the SC-BTT350 doesn’t offer world-beating sound quality – and only a fool would expect it to at this price – you can focus on its many virtues, such as hi-def 3D playback, a packed feature list and exceptional ease of use. So if you’re looking for a cost-effective, convenient way of getting 3D, hi-def and surround sound in one fell swoop, then the SC-BTT350 deserves a place on your shortlist, if not necessarily at the top.
