How do I get rid of the buzzing noise in my speakers?

I get a VERY LOUD buzzing noise when i use my surround sound with HDM1,WHY?

  • When I try to watch anything that involves my surround sound and the HDM1 on my flat screen and to my lap top there is a LOUD BUZZING noise that i get from the speakers,it comes and goes,the louder i have the volume the louder i get that sound.I am STUPIFIED.

    First, Jennifer Aniston rocks! Sounds like a ground loop problem. Try it with the laptop on battery only, if that doesn't work try it on another tv. Toshiba has had a ground loop through hdmi problem so if your tv is a Toshiba you may want to call them and see if there is a fix for it. You also might be able to fix it through the computer sound settings by switching it to stereo instead of surround or even to mono.
