What is IMAX?

What is the differance between 3D and IMAX?

  • at a movie theater, what is the differance between 3D &IMAX

  • Answer:

3D involves special glasses in a regular theater that make you feel like the images are coming out of the screen. without the glasses, the picture looks fuzzy and out of focus. IMAX, on the other hand, is just a really big screen at special theaters, which stretches above and below you, so that you feel like the images are close to you, and more intense. you don't need glasses for IMAX. I'd also suggest it over 3D. :)

3D is three dimensional effect and an IMAX is known for the huge screen around 80ft or so and better sound than an original theater. Now you can watch 3D on the IMAX screens, which is the ULTIMATE EFFECT. Hope this helps!!!

well, 3d is obviously when objects in the movie seem to be right in front of you. and imax is when the screen is curved above, on the sides, and on the bottom a little to make it seem like your more in the movie.

3D you wear the glasses to view an image that pops off the screen. IMAX is a film format with higher resolution and greater picture size than regular films.*
