How to program a universal remote?

How do you program the Vizio Universal Remote VUR8P with a code?

• I have a VUR8P Vizio universal remote that I am attempting to program to use with my VSB210WS Vizio sound bar with wireless subwoofer. I know that this remote can be used because the user manual for my VSB210WS shows the same VUR8P remote and gives its programming code. However, I do not know how to program the remote and cannot find any instructions or user manuals online to tell me how to. Thanks to anyone who can assist me!

  I had the same problem, first you should know there is more than one model VUR8P remote and that they do not all work with the Sound Bar. ( Vizio told me this for what it is worth ). Ok first press the function button ( dvd , audio whatever you want ) Second hold set until Led flashes Next enter code ( depending on the model it may be a 4 or 5 digit code ( 31517 or 1517 ) for mine. Finally press power button --- If you have the one that learns ( that is good ) Press and hold set until Led flashes Enter 9-7-5 flash again Push button you want to assign Point teaching remote ( press function ) Press set
