How do I connect my Sky+ box to surround sound?

I would like to Connect LG HD LCD TV to a sky + box and to a LG Home Cinema Surround Theatre System?

  • The TV Has 2 scart leads outputs, 1 hdmi output, 1 optical output, red+white stereo outputs The Surround System has 2 scart outputs, 1 hdmi output, 1 optical output, red+white stereo outputs The sky + box has 2 scart outputs, 1 optical lead output and red+white stereo outputs. The leads that I have are 1 HDM lead, 1 optical lead, 1 red, white, yellow lead and 2 scart leads. Please can you give me a easy way to set it all up to enable to get dolby digital output the sky+ box and surround; and whether I need any other leads or kit. I would like the optimum dolby output sound and vision. Also if I need to change any settings on the sky+ menu. Many Thanks

    Connect HDMI from Home Theater System to TV and scart from Sky box to TV for video then optical cable from Sky box to Home Theater System for TV channel audio.

the best way is to connect the optical cable in to the sky box not the tv this will give you the best possible sound from your sky box but not the tv but if you watch everything through sky that's ok but if you want sound from both tv and sky use the one on the tv but there will be a compromise doing that ie not as good sound but if your surround has two opticals on it connect two one tv one sky and switch between the two or use the red and white cable to the tv if it has only one optical their is a setting on the sky box for dolby sound in services (if you have a hd box ) then use your cursor to go to the spanner then down one then across to sound press select and change optical out to dolby if it is not done already dont for get to save settings
