How to watch Youtube HD through Sony Blu-ray player?

I have a Sony blue-ray player and I can change the resolution of the videos I watch from Youtube.

Sorry to say, but Sony nor any blu ray company lets you watch you tube in full high definition. Hopefully there will be a fix soon, because i have a samsung blu ray player and would love to watch hd you tube on it. Time to write the company!

I'm not sure that Heymypeeps has it right there. It's Youtube that doesn't allow HD video streaming on home cinemas. There's no places for advertising to go, no advertising revenue: No extra bandwidth for HD allowed. It's the same for my Western Digital media player. I Worked around it using Sothink's web video downloader (Link in sources). I download everything I want in HD and play it from the hard drive. Not the same as having all of the media on youtube but it's nice to build up a library of youtube clips that I like.
