How can I connect my TV to projector?

Can you connect a projector to a direct tv box and use it as a t.v.?

  • Instead of buying a new t.v. I want to buy a projector and hook it up to my direct t.v. and watch it that way but I'm not sure I can. I'm also wondering which cables you need. By the way, can you connect a projector a MAC computer too? Would you need special cables for that too?

    yes u can depending on what directv box u have it all comes standard with the red, white, yellow cable u can plug it in and off u go. for a mac i think u need a RGB cable and a RGB converted to that one port on the mac. can not recall what tat port is.

YES MATTHEW IS RIGHT BUT IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE KIND OF PROJECTOR AND DIRECTV BOX. YOUR PROJECTOR MIGHT HAVE THE YELLOW, WHITE, AND RED CONNECTIONS BUT IT MIGHT ALSO HAVE THE COMPONENT CONNECTIONS OR EVEN THE HDMI. SAME THING WITH YOUR DIRECTV BOX, IT DEPENDS WHICH ONE YOU HAVE. I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE MAC BUT I THINK MATTHEW IS RIGHT ABOUT THE RGB OF COURSE IF YOUR PROJECTOR HAS THE RGB PORT.
