Other answers

Those other 2 answers are not helpful at all are they... Since I am not able to actually be there and see exactly how it is all hooked up these are a few things you can check. Are the settings set up correctly? You might be trying to play through some stereo option or don't have all your channels allowed. You should play around with the settings. Is everything hooked up correctly through the inputs? What sort of connections are going into it? an HDMI cable? fiber optic? RCA? An RCA cable with this may not work with 5.1 if I am not mistaken. The only thing those cables can carry is left and right speakers. Just keep playing with it and make sure you're playing something that utilizes the 5.1 setup while trying to get it to work. Like a bluray movie or something. Other than that definately give customer service a call

You must have a 5.1 channel source for there to be any sound coming from all of the speakers. If it is only stereo then you will only get your left and right speakers. Most dvds are multi channel and quite a few hd broadcasts are as well. Hope that helps

Check none of the wires are broken or anything like that and make sure its all wired up propley and if still no luck then i would just send it back and get a new one lol

It is configure in stereo mode. Read again and look for the audio set-up menu.

Only the DVD will have surround sound information, the rest are in stereo (2 channel).
