Why doesn't my tv have sound?

How do i hook up surround sound when my tv doesnt have audio out?

  • I have surround sound but my tv doesn't have audio out. I has the s-video and about 4 diff. rca conects. on my tv

  • Answer:

First, connect the audio from all of your other sources directly to the receiver. This will get you surround sound from them. To get surround sound from your regular TV viewing you just need to use some other device as the tuner for the TV's monitor and then send its audio to the receiver. If you have a cable box or satellite receiver you can use the audio outputs from these. If not, you can use a stereo VCR as the tuner and send its audio to the receiver.

Take the input to your TV, place that to the A/V receiver and relate the output from the receiver to your tv. Your A/V receiver should be able to generate surround sound. GL.

Do you have a cable box with digital audio output? IF so, hook up your surround sound to the cable box. What about a DVD player? Hook up the digital audio output of the DVD player to your surround sound amp. Doing that will get you surround sound.
