How to connect PC to TV?

How to connect pc headphone to hdmi tv (connected to hdmi dvd player)?

  • Hello Techies, Need some help: I have a JVC 32" hdmi lcd tv which is connected to "Sony dvd player" (DVP NS710H/B) via a hdmi cable. I need to listen the sound on my pc speakers (or a pc headphone) when i watch movies on the dvd player. Please answer the following questions: 1) Where do i connect the pc speakers (to the dvd player or to the TV?) when watching dvd movies. 2) How do i connect. ( TV has Optical Digital Audio Output, DVD player has Coaxial Audio Digital Output & RCA Audio Output) 3) Can i connect my pc speakers to the TV headphone output?. Please help. Thanks

  • Answer:

Connect your 3.5mm cable from speaker to hedphone jack. Do you get sound? If not, some models require your audio menu settings to "turn off" tv speakers. Good luck My Sony did not have headphone out either. It did have RCA audio out (red/white). I used a "Y" adapter that has the RCAs on one end and the 3.5mm male on the other. You'll need one with a 3.5mm female. If the TV does not have audio out, the DVD player can be used instead.
