Connecting a pc to a tv?

Connecting a PC/laptop audio to the TV using line out, 3.5mm - 3.5mm and a PC input socket on TV problem?

  • Hi, I have a TV with a PC input socket. I have tried connecting my PC to the TV but am not getting any sound. I have tried two different leads with a 3.5mm jack on each end going from the line out/headphone socket to the TV on both my PC and laptop and go onto each of the different AV sockets on the TV, but am still not getting any sound out. On the computer I have all of the different output volume controls and none of them are muted. Please help me resolve this problem. Col

  • Answer:

What TV? If it is called a PC input and is a mini jack style, it more than likely is a serial comms connection for a service tech. If all else fails read your owners manual first!!!!!!!

You may need to change the audio source on your TV. Menu setup...

What you need is a 3.5mm to RCA (stereo) cable. Plug the 3.5mm to your computer's audio output. Then take the left, right RCA and plug them in the corresponding analog audio input of your TV. This should resolve your problem.
