Help burning to blu ray?

I have questions about blu ray and dvd, help?

  • I'm curious, is BD going to be the next generation thing? Are DVDs slowly going to stopped being produced and everything is going to be in Blu Ray instead? I'm asking because I have a huge collection of movies in DVDs. I love buying movies and I noticed most of the movies I love are coming out in Blu Ray. Should I stop buying regular DVDs and start collecting my favorite movies in Blu Ray? Today when I was at Best Buy they were playing this movie in Blu Ray and it looked so perfect and clear. For a moment it looked like the actors were right there live in front of you. I loved it. But I'm worried about buying blu ray and a blu ray player because I fear that it might end up like HD dvd. They didn't last long and stopped making them. Would this happened to Blu Ray? Someone please explain to me and please don't be rude. I'm just confused about Blu Ray. I've never owned it before. Thanks for the help! =]

    I have good news for you, blue ray players also play DVDs, so go purchase a blue ray player and keep watching all your old movies as well and any new blue ray ones you purchase. Yes Blue Ray is much clearer and will most likely be around for awhile until they come up with something better then you can deal with that then.

Yes, Blu Ray disc movies will eventually replace the DVD format, but it will be awhile longer. You can still play the dvd movies you have on the blu ray disc player. I have around 1,000 DVD movies and around 300 blu ray disc. Hope this will help you out.

Blu ray is amazing. If you get blu ray, you can still play them on your regular DVD, and you can play dvds on blu ray. The picture is gorgous, I actually recently watched Valentine's Day on blu ray a few nights ago, and it feels like you are in the movie! You also get special features if you are playing a blu ray disc on a blu ray player. Even in the movie! Its great. I suggest getting blu ray. It looks even better in HD tvs.
