How to turn HDMI or Component into hdtv signal for digital/analogue TV tuner?

  • Is there any practical way to convert an HD HDMI or component signal into a signal TV tuners can see over coaxial cable? I want to record PS2 and Xbox 360 games on my ATI tv wonder 650, and while sd video recording over s-video is fine, I would rather use 1080i which the tuner is capable of. In other words, I'm looking for a reverse TV tuner, to convert an HD signal back into a coaxial TV broadcast signal. If this costs over $100, its not worth it to me, though. For that money, I could buy an HDMI capture card.

    I think theres a multi-function cable that allows you to connect other sources to your ATI TV Tuner. It won't do HDMI or component though. To actually convet the signal to ATSC over coaxial would require a very expensive device. I think the only option is a new device like one of these (below link) or a newer ATI card that has an HDMI input. http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/videorecorder/
