How to connect Logitech z-5500 to my tv?

How can I connect Logitech z506 speakers to Tv, Xbox and Ps3?

  • Does anyone know how to do this, I've been told if I purchase an RCA cable(red and white) then I can connect from the speakers to my tv, my xbox and ps3 are connected to the tv via hdmi cable..so if my tv is connected to the z506 system through the rca cable then would the sound from my xbox and ps3 come through the speakers as well? I need help on this, I don't want more problems, I want solutions! Thanks!

taken from amazon website Works with: Computers, music players, TVs, DVD players and other audio sources with 3.5 mm or RCA audio out (not included) i have got a old top of the range pioneer AV receiver which does NOT have any hdmi inputs or outputs and when i use my ps3, xbox and sky its all through 1 set of rca leads from the tv to the AV receiver and its all controlled buy that system,, the logitech will work in the same way but do NOT expect the sound quality to be great,, most of those cheap 5.1 speaker systems are just a waste of time and you wont have total control of the system compared with a AV receiver my old top of the range pioneer amp cost me over £1500 and i have looked at other amps in that price range a few months ago and NONE of them sounded better than my old reliable amp and my subwoofer from my 5.1 surround sound cost me £350 and my 4 mains speakers (front and rear) cost me over £1000 and my centre speaker that was in the region of £150 and you still guarantee that it would out play mine PMSL and thats a pic of the amp that i have got but i have got a touch screen remote control while this model does NOT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pioneer-VSA-E06-Copper-Chassis-Home-Theatre-Cinema-Integrated-Amplifier-/190582847796?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers&hash=item2c5f9f7934 READ MY ANSWER AGAIN dim wit,, i already mentioned how you do it

You really cannot. That speaker system was designed to take 3.5 mm cables from a computer sound card for each of the speakers. Your TV likely has a single optical output that encodes 5.1 channels. The two - dont really connect. That speaker system also takes left/right analog. If your TV has left/right analog output - you can hook up a pair of RCA cables between the two to get Stereo. The speaker system MIGHT do some psudo-magic and send sounds to other speakers but it will not be real 5.1 sound. I wish there was a small decoder box that would take Optical input, decode the results and output to 6 3.5mm jacks but this does not obviously exist.

If your TV has speakers attached to it, it will use those speakers for everything. You might have to adjust setting on the tv so it will use the speakers properly.
