How do i get my surround sound to work with my ps3, it works though my tv speakers, ps3 connected by HDMI?

I would connect it by using a digital optical cable. From your ps3 to your surround system.

If by "Surround Sound" you mean 5.1 (5 speakers plus sub-woofer) or greater, then the HDMI cable isn't going to work as it does not support 5.1 (only stereo). "Red and white" cables are also wrong, those are stereo as well. (Left and Right). You'll need an optical cable and a 5.1-surround capable stereo receiver. Hope this helps a little!

If your surround sound system has HDMI input and supports AUX surround, you are probably able to!

Use an optical cable from the ps3 to the surround sound system. Go to the ps3 audio settings and make sure the audio output is set on optical 5.1 surround sound. Connect the HDMI to the tv for picture quality. You only need the HDMI connected to the surround sound if you were going to have 7.1 surround sound.

ours works so this is what u do connect your surround sound to your audio out on your tv so every thing you play will work we have all the consoles and they work with are surround sound just the red and white cables btw i have a 62 in sony bravia we have the wii ps3 and the xbox360 and dvd player hooked up and they all work

he needs the av cables,the yellow,white,red.

Connect a separate optical cable from the PS3 to the surround sound.
