How to get sound from hdmi channel to home cinema DVD player?

40" LCD Samsung, with HT-Q20 home cinema DVD, Can't get SKY (SAT) on surround sound - Pls Help?

  • Hi there, I have a 40" LCD Samsung, with HT-Q20 home cinema DVD player. I can get surround sound through all speakers when watching a DVD but I cannot get the sound to go through the surround sound speakers when watching SKY - Any ideas? I have a scart from SKY > TV and from DVD > TV - Is there anything else i need to do to get the SKY (SAT) sound to go through the surround sound speakers? (and not just the basic dafault TV speakers)

    have a look on the back of your telly or on the sky box to see if there is an audio out these should be a red and white phono socket type plug get a phono to phono lead, the type used in hi fi separates and plug it into the audio in or aux plug on the back of your surround amp select the aux option on your amp and the sound should come out hope this is some help

hi have you gone to your sky go to set up you may have to set it up for surround sound on ur sky to get it i know theres suming on it saying sound
