How to get sound from hdmi channel to home cinema DVD player?

  • OK. I connected my home cinema DVD player to my TV with scart. Then when I turned option "tv" on, I could go to every channel including HDMI channels and sound would go to DVD player speakers (5.1 speakers, and I would get stereo sound). Then I disconnected it for a little bit. The problem is that when I connected all again, and turned "tv" option on, only normal channels can be heard on my DVD player speakers and my HDMI channels can`t be heard. How can I solve this? It`s not impossible because I already did it once. And I can`t connect DVD player with HDMI.

  • Answer:

This is VERY confusing. a) SCART is a VIDEO only interface. It has nothing to do with HDMI or audio. b) What are "HDMI channels" under TV? It makes no sense. How is the TV connected to the Home-Cinema? If you use 2-ch stereo, that's what you get. Maybe the Home theater has a Dolby-ProLogic II option to create virtual surround. c) If you have another source with HDMI out, its audio needs to be connected to the audio input of your home cinema.
