What cables will I need to hook HDTV, Direct TV box, and Home Theater?
-
I'll start off by saying I know NOTHING about electronics. I am getting a Sony Bravia 46” HDTV, Panasonic 5.1 Channel Home Theater System w/ surround sound, and Direct TV HD. I need to know how to connect them all. I know the TV has 2 HDMI slots, and the home theater has 1 HDMI. Will I be able to connect everything with HDMI cables? If so, where do they go? Does one connect TV to home theater, and one TV to Direct TV box? Will I need to connect the Direct TV box to the home theater? Will I need any other cables? Thanks for your help. I'm completely lost

Answer:
HDMI out from both the DirecTV box and Panasonic DVD/Receiver. Optical out from the DirecTV box to the back of the Panasonic. Your Panasonic should have 1 optical in or digital coax in (might be called SPDIF).
