Are these speakers good? or at least for the money?

Bose Companion 20 speakers.. worth the money?

  • These are a fairly new addition to the BOSE lineup. Anyone that currently owns these speakers, would you recommend them? I am currently using the entry level BOSE Companion 2 (99.99 at Best Buy) but the new set is a bit more at 249.99 retail at Best Buy. Are they worth the extra money?

    No. I can name better speakers for less... AudioEngine A2 $200 Made in the USA, Woven Kevlar drivers, silk dome tweeters, Hand-Finished wood cabinet, Class A/B amplifiers M-Audio AV40 $150-200-ish More wattage, better build materials, professionally recognized brand... unlike bose. Bose Companion 20... $250, made in China, paper drivers, foam driver skirts, plastic cabinet made by machines, unknown amplifiers soldered by Chinese children. Compare those three... I own a pair of AudioEngine A2s myself and they blow away every Bose speaker I've ever heard. Period. So do the M-Audios... and pretty much every other speaker brand out there. Some Best Buys have the M-Audios, so go listen to them. And AudioEngine offers a trial period if you order direct from them, you can always send them back. Trust me, they're much better than Bose's junk. Hopefully I helped. Sorry if i was brash.

About half of what you pay for are the letters BOSE. Read reviews and compare.

Compare the wattage and OHM, if one has more wattage than the other than go ahead and buy the pair, say 100 watts more power than the ones you currently own, because 100 bucks is a lot to spending on the same quality.
