How do I set up my Wii with my HDTV?
-
I recently brought a new 32" HDTV, and was wanting to hook my Wii up to it. I ordered the component cables for it, but I'm not sure how to hook it up into my existing tv/dvd player/satelite/surround sound system. It works fine now with the red/white/yellow cables, but how would I connect it when I have the component cord, which has five cables?

Answer:
Well, it depends on your setup. You can have the video and audio go into your receiver, and have the receiver pass the video through to the TV. You can also hook the red/white cables from the component to your audio receiver, and then the other 3 colored cables to your TV. You know you kinda wasted your money on those cables? The Wii on red/white/yellow displays 480i, on component it displays only 480p. Your TV is still upscaling the image. It will look exactly the same, unless your TV's deinterlacing is bad.
