How do I play audio through HDMI?

Is it possible to play the audio only by using a HDMI cable?

  • I have BOSE life style Home theater system (Model V 30) which i want to connect to my lap top by using an HDMI cable.I tied doing that but i am not getting the audio out to my home theater system which i am playing in my laptop.But when using an normal AV code (I am taking the Audio out from the Head phone jack of Laptop) Its working fine so It is not possible to play the audio only by using a HDMI cable?

Sure, but you have make sure the settings are correct to "tell" the computer to send audio over HDMI. In most cases the default will be the analog output. I can't tell you how to do it since every hardware setup is different.
