Is there a way to plug my Macbook into my Tv?

Can you record Xbox 360 footage with a slingbox Pro-HD or Apple TV to a macbook pro or is there a cheaper way?

  • I want HD footage, to a macbook pro, this is the best way i found, but my friend said I could do it with Apple TV, is this ture? Or are their better ways? Does any one know of a external USB or Firewire that can do the same thing beecause I don't need to watch TV on a Macbook Pro, heck I don't watch TV on a televison anyways! THANK YOU

    The Hauppauge HD-PVR is by far the best option for capturing HD video onto your pc or mac period. It can capture 1080i HD video with surround sound. It is a little pricey however at $208 on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-1212-Definition-Personal-Recorder/dp/B0018LX0DY/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1233979101&sr=8-1 but I have 2 of them for doing HD cable on my HTPC and I love it. Although it's pricey it captures really nice HD video with surround sound in H.264 format. Even at $200 its still the cheapest option currently on the market for capturing HD video. It really is your only/best option. Plus it works on windows and Mac. Oh, PS Apple TV does not capture video and I'm not sure if the slingbox Pro-HD software for mac is out of beta yet. Basically go with the HD-PVR you wont be disappointed.
