What cable do i need to connect my laptop to my tv?

What cable do i need to connect my laptop to my tv? (they are both new, top of the range pieces of equipment)?

  • the tv is a LG LCD TV and the laptop is an inspiron 15r. (i was told about using my ps3 controller cable to connect them). im technologically inept so any answers will have to be detailed please... sorry

    Look and see what your laptop computer provides for video and audio output. Most like it will have an HDMI output, connect one end of the HDMI cable from the computer and the other end to the tv HDMI input. Make sure you configure the computer to output the audio via HDMI cable also. Check both owners manual of your system and it will provide you with the proper instruction. Hope this will help you out.

if your laptop has hdmi then an hdmi cable if not if your tv has a vga connection blue monitor cable then use that. but if you use a vga cable you'll need an audio cable to get sound.

hdmi from the laptop to the tv. That is the the laptop and tv both have hdmi
