Home Stereo Speakers (Want to Add)?
-
I purchased a small home radio/cd player to put outside by the pool. It came with two speakers, but I would like to add two more, but the stereo doesn't have enough power to push them. Is there any type of amplifier I can get to push the extra speakers.

Answer:
If the radio/cd player has line outputs, then just buy an inexpensive stereo receiver, run a cable from line outputs of your radio/cd player to the line inputs of the receiver and attach the additional speakers to the receiver. If it doesn't, then you'd need a device that can drop the speaker output down to line level like this: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=302-307 What I would do instead of that approach, is to spend the money on an inexpensive CD player to attach to the new receiver and forget about your existing radio/CD player.
