How do I set my plasma tv picture?

Will home theater speakers set near a plasma screen TV distort the picture?

  • If so how can you prevent this from happening (other than keeping the speakers a certain distance from the TV)?

  • Answer:

No. As A matter of a fact the only tv screens that magnents effected, were the old CRT monitors, the old style of tubes, we did away with all that soon as the Plasma, LCD, and Laser TV's came out...

Depends on the speaker. Most quality home theater speakers would not , but it does depend on the speaker and how it is made. What you are basically looking for is a speaker that is shielded, this will prevent it from interfering with the picture on your TV. Most home theater speakers are shielded and preventing it with your TV.

useriscr... is correct (although I don't know what a "laser television" is...). The only kind of display that is effected by the magnets in a speaker is the cathode ray tube television, which a plasma is not. DLP and LCD are not effected by speakers either.

Well the plasma screen should be magnetically shielded.

Home theater speakers are generally magnetically shielded to protect TVs. Buy new speakers if yours are not.
