Am I getting the most out of Dolby Pro Logic II with my Wii?

: Hi, I have a surround sound system I bought a while back in early 2006, I also have a Wii console which can output sound through Dolby Pro Logic II. I have been educated on mostly everything electronic, but I am not at all familiar with how Dolby works. Here is my setup: My surround sound system is connected to my big screen TV's Audio Output RCA plugs. My Wii is connected to my big screen TV's Progressive ports (Red,Blue,Green and Audio plugs) and my Wii sound settings is set to 'Surround' Is this all I need to get the most out of Dolby Pro Logic II, because while it does sound decent as it is, I don't think if it is capable of more. I hear things about Dolby Pro Logic II Decoders and things like that, would I need to buy something like this to get the most out of Dolby Pro Logic II or is the current setup I have enough to get the most out of Dolby Pro Logic II. Any help or any info. is greatly appreciated!

I dont believe the Wii has a digital out, optical or coax, but the red and white rca is just perfect for Dolby Pro Logic II, you would only NEED a digital optical or coax cable if the Wii supported Dolby Digital. You have everything you need to get the best outta Pro Logic, although you may want to connect those rca cables directly to your surround system if you can

Make sure your audio connection from the Wii is using either a digital optical fiber cable or a Coax audio cable. The RCA jacks (red and white) are only for analog stereo.

Connect a digital audio coaxial cable or a toslink optical cable from the wii to your surround sound system. preferably optical connection and you should get dolby pro logic II assuming your receiver supports it.
