LCD monitor question.

Question about mounting a LCD HDTV and LCD Monitor?

  • So I have two questions here, and wanna know bout both so: 1. I have a 19" HP LCD Monitor (HP w1858) that says it is mountable and it says it has "Standard VESA 4-hole 100 mm x 100 mm" So would that work with this mount: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=14546200&findingMethod=rr#Q%26A+Exchange 2. I'm still waiting on it to be delivered but I ordered the Vizio 42" LCD HDTV (E420VO) and it says it has Hole Pattern: VESA standard 200mm X 200mm Screw Size: M6 Screw Length: 20.0mm Screw Pitch: 1.0 mm So do you think this mount would work: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=13070385&findingMethod=rr And the reason I want that mount for the HDTV is because would I be able to mount it on a wall then swing the arm out and position the TV in the corner? Thanks.

  • Answer:

If your wall is brick then use dynabolts at least 80mm long. If your wall is plasterboard then dont mount the tv unless you're able to find the wooden studs behind the plaster board and then use screws at least 50mm long. If you do it the way you said your tv will fall off the wall.
