Can I hook up my laptop to my blu ray player?

Can I use a usb cable to hook my laptop to my blu ray player?

  • I have an lg blu ray player, and all I can do is watch netflix, vudu, youtube and cinema now, and Id like to be able to watch current tv shows that I miss on the internet such as cwtv.com. right now I use a n hdmi cable to hook up my latop to my tv, but its a pain cuz I have to use separate cables for video and sound, and the sound sucks. It would be so much easier to watch through my blu ray, is it possible to do this with a usb cable perhaps?

  • Answer:

no. usb does not transfer audio/video. HDMI transfers video and audio. Your best bet is to get a better HDMI cable if you are having issues with the audio. The only thing your computer can do with the USB and blue ray is if you had an external blue ray drive. That still wont let you output the blue ray's audio and video, it will just let you play them on the computer or rip the files.
