Are LG home theater speakers interchangeable?

LG or samsung home theater?

  • Hi guys. I'm about to buy a new home theater and I dunno which brand to choose, LG or Samsung. I saw the LG ht304 su and the samsung ht c 350 exactly at the same price and they both hace almost the same specs, except but the samsung has 330w more power but the LG looks a little bit more cool, samsung's speakers are square and the lg's are connical if that matters. I'd apreciate your opinions, thank you!

  • Answer:

Samsung Electronics HT-D550 Home Theater System is player works great. Plays DVDs, divx, mp3, etc... The Amazon description says it's wifi enabled but IT IS NOT. I was hoping to get a player that would play media off of my network, but I researched before I bought it and no other site said it had wi-fi, so I was mostly just hoping. Mysteriously, Samsung has no mention of this product on their website. Using the HDMI connection, if you turn this player on and put a disk in, my TV turns on and changes itself to the correct input. It's so easy that my 18 month old has learned how to get a movie going. The sound is great too. I had a philips home theater system before and the center channel was always too low. It was booming bass out of the subwoofer before the center channel was loud enough to hear voices. With this Samsung, the voices are clear and crisp. And the bass is great when you want it too. I really like the "touch sensitive" buttons. It's so easy to clean sticky kids fingerprints off the face.

I would not recommend any of those home theater in a box. They are designed for you to watch a movie with surround sound only. You will not be able to connect your tv to it to hear the tv audio, or can you add anything to it or upgrade at a later date. When one item fails the whole system has to be replaced. The only system I would recommend is the Onkyo HT-S3400, it is a 5.1 receiver and a set of speakers. You can add a Panasonic (best and most reliable player) blu ray disc player to it. All that for a total cost of under $500. Demo them at your local Fry's Electronic and let you own ears be the judge. Power rating on those home theater in a box are not very reliable. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice many problems with home theater in a box. Hope this will help you out.

As the first answer say, they're cheap trash. You would do far, far better by spending about $500, and with that you could get a name brand 5.1 home theater receiver for about $200 (Like the Pioneer VSK521K from Amaz*n), a good set of 5.1 speakers made by a good speaker company for about another $200 (Like the Polk 6750 set from PC Richard & Son, $199.99, free US shipping), and the remaining $100 gets you an upconverting DVD player, or a Bluray player. Add in a few bucks for cables and speaker wire (HDMI cable can be had from Amaz*n for about $3.). All that would get you a system that sounds a LOT better than any HTIB piece of cr*p systems, and it will have more and better connectivity as well.
