    If your computer has an optical digital out, then you can run it to the optical digital in on your Home Theater system. That way you will get full audio range and the DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) of your Home Theater System will perform a better job in giving you a good sound. If your computer has only Line-Out connector, then you can run that to one of the audio-in connector of your home system, but that way you are taking the sound from your computer in analog mode, which is a little bit lower quality than digital (that's if you are too picky). You can find connectors at any Radio shack stores. If you still want digital sound out of your computer, then you have to buy a Sound Card that have this feature.

yes-i have done it!!. if your pc has no optical out obtain a stereo heaphone to phono lead (RCA) - the headphone has to be of the 1.5mm size-connect from the headphone out of the pc and into the "AUX" input of the home entertainment system and away you go-although i would turn the volume of the system down to begin with until you get used to the controls. also before you start nip in to the headphone menu of your pc and check the volume is not set too high.

Just plug an audio cable from your sound card in the pc into the aux plug on your stereo system. It's that simple. If you use 'line out', use 'line in' on your stereo.

there should be a audio or digital out on your computer, just run a wire from there to your receiver
