What is a good Blue-ray player to buy?

I have an old surround sound system, and i want to buy a blueray player.do i have to buy a new receiver too?

  • Answer:

If you want to take advantage of BlueRay's audio capabilities you will need a receiver that is capable of uncompressed DD and DTS. Most older receivers cannot do this. If sound quality is not a big deal for you, the player's analog audio outputs will still get the sound to your system.

Depends on your needs. Your blu-ray player will have multiple outputs. There will be a way for you to get sound to your old system. If your system is relatively new, it will already have either a fibre or coxial digital connection. these have been a standard for a while are on most new surround systems
