Why does only one of my surround sound speakers crackle at low volumes?
-
I have a Samsung surround sound that I've been using for a while and over the last month or so its started to crackle on the front right channel. I've switched the speakers to make sure the speaker is fine (which it is when connected to front left instead), and the front left makes the same sound when connected to the front right channel. Is it possible that somehow only one channel in the amp has gotten fried somehow?!?! Now, to make things even better it only happens when there is a valid input coming into the surround amp (ie any analog input or when my tv is on and connected by optical etc) and doesn't make a sound when the active input isn't receiving a signal from the looks of things. So, to recap... It seems like its not a speaker problem as the speaker in question works perfectly when connected to a different channel... Ditto for the wiring to the speakers. Its more than one input that the problem happens on, so I'm assuming it can't be an input issue? And it only happens when there's "signal" going to the amp (I can play movies and mute them and it still crackles, but as soon as I stop it the crackling stops as well). I just don't know what else to try!

Answer:
Its probably in the wiring and how your power is distributed in your HTIB, those systems have very cheap circuits using cheap parts to achieve a certain price point...often times compromises are made that insure an early breakdown, but the company is unwilling to fix the problem due to cost constrains....
