How to set up LCD TV w/ Cable Box, DVD Player and to play through DVD Player home theater stereo?
-
Im considering purchasing my parents an LCD TV and w/DVD player home theater and would like to know what audio options I have. They currently have BASIC cable (no box) and a DVD player. If I purchase Digital Cable and A New DVD Player Home Theater, the Home Theater would have to be hidden in a cabinet for every day viewing as there is not proper sufficient space for TV, Cable box and DVD/Reciever in their current tv center setup So Do the audio outputs for the cable box/and,or Tv Feed through the TV first, and then to the Home Th? Could the TV volume control the volume through the stereo, much like an MP3 player can adjust its volume when playing through a Car tape player? If all parts have to be in view of the remote at all times... could most digital cable remotes be programed to have the volume control the stereo volume rather than the TV volume, or would there HAVE to be 2 remotes.... simplicity for the rotary phone generation.

I suggest you get aBose system. Those are usually very space-saving and have amazing sound quality. http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_PRODUCT_PAGE_EVENT&product=cinemate_surround_index

actually its hard to tell u ur options when there are so many different types and brands od surround recievers out there....some will work from a cable universal remote and control all sound and some will only work with their remote and not control the tv sound.....i would suggest buying a nice receiver that will take audio AND video signals that way u can set it up to work thru the receiever and not need any other remote......i set up my cable box dvd/vcr and surround sound to my tv with the surround sound reciever being a sony and i turn on my tv and receiver with the same remote then just select the source i want to watch whether it be sat dvd or vcr and ithats changes my screen without having to change tv channels.....i would do that....get a nice receiver that accepts audio and video signals then u will be almost unlimited in how u can set it up to work for them.....also that way u will only need to see the receiver and not all the other things....except for the cable box to change that channel....good luck
