Is it possible to watch HDTV through a Blu Ray player?

URGENT!!!! where can i hook up HDMI cables from my blu ray player to because i dont have a hdtv?

  • I have just bought a blu ray player and the HDMI cables so i can watch my old dvds in HD... But i dont have a HDTV so i dont know where i can hook the hdmi cables to?? is there anything i can buy to hook it up to?? i have a direct tv cable box but no hdmi port just a USB port is that the same thing??? i also have a xbox 360 can i hook it up to that somehow??? there is a small port on the back of my 360 but it dosent say hdmi or anything at all...i also saw a HDMI switch box on the internet is that what i need?? someone please help me???

    The ONLY thing you can hook it up to is an HDTV. That's what its for. By the way, a Blu-Ray player will up convert your old DVDs to twice the number of lines of resolution as standard (standard is 420). But its not really 840, its just 420 doubled. It is no where near HD resolution (1080). FYI.

There is no point in having anything hdmi if your television isnt hemi capable, I would go get a new tv that supports hdmi

there should be a rca video port on the blu ray player. just connect those. if you dont have rca ports you need a hdtv to hook it up.

HD.high defenition..you have to have a hd tv.i just bought a 42 in plasma for 700.00 new? i freeking love it.your cable box also has to be HD ready or u will need to upgrade to HDTV box to.
