Can we connect an AV input to an HDMI output?

Is it possible to connect RCA output to an HDMI tv input?

  • My tv has only one rca input, so I am curious if it's possible to get a cable that connects to my dvd players rca output, and plug it into my tv's hdmi - is this at all possible? I don't expect hd quality, just looking for a way to connect the dvd player to the tv when I have another device already connected to the rca input.

  • Answer:

RCA jack is an analogy signal for audio and the HDMI is a digital signal that has the video and audio signal. I would recommend you get a switch box with at less 4 input and one output to connect to the tv. You can find a switch box at any Best Buy or Radio Shack. Hope this will help you out.

Yes. It runs about $97 (or less on Cyber Monday) . It is called a "BluRay" player. It will play your DVD's and BluRay disks and has HDMI output which will feed your TV. Try the "Media Bridge" brand of HDMI cables from Amazon for $9-$20 each. You can also get an AV Receiver that offers HDMI conversion. This lets you run 1 HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV. You can feed analog or digital video to the receiver and it converts it to feed everything through the HDMI cable. But these run .. $300 or more. Here is Amazons discount site for BluRay players and disks: http://www.bestbluraydeals.com/ Hope this helps.

Get a box to convert the signals. Get it off of Amazon... bestbuy doesn't sell that stuff.
