How do i hook up my surround sound to my tv?

My TV has no audio out, how do I hook up my surround sound?

I have a surround sound with dvd player built in and im not sure how to hook it up im stumped i can get it to work with movies but i would like to hear the surround sound while watching tv, the tv has no cable box its in the bedroom someone help please!

    Only way I know of is an additional component. A dvd/vcr combo with rca outputs will do fine.

How are you receiving the tv signal without the cable box or disc network. You need to connect a cable from the cable box or disc network to your surround sound system to hear the sound. Majority of the tv program are in stereo, only those tv program with the dolby surround label provide surround sound, providing you have a decoder (usually in a receiver). Majority of the home theater in a box are not flexible for this use, they have no inputs for other equipment to be added on to them. If you are only using an aerial antenna then you can't get surround sound. Hope this will help.

Almost no TVs pass surround sound. If you want surround sound you must send the audio to the receiver. If your cable audio and video signals can't be separated (as with a box) then you must connect the cable directly to the surround sound system.
