How do i connect my dvd to my car power supply?

Run my car amplifier off my home DVD player?

  • in my bed room i have a car sub, amp and head unit connected off a battery. can i connect the car amp to my DVD player with rca cable just for sound. im not sure because the amp runs off a 12volt battery and the DVD is of the power point which is 240v.im asking because i dont want to blow anything. THANK YOU

  • Answer:

Yes you can. The power input is separate from the signal path. Just one concern, do you realise a normal car battery give of toxic, corrosive fumes during charge and discharge? This will SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOU HEALTH and anyone near by including pets, also during charge there is always a risk of EXPLOSION! I would think there is a law against it, certainly against the terms of your lease if you have one. You can get fully sealed gell batteries to negate the fumes issue of the 'leisure'-'deep cycle' type, will last longer between charges, a normal car battery is designed to be constantly charged!
