What Home Theater Projector is best for me?
-
I need some advice on which projector is best for me. My Budget is $1000. I will use it everyday for movies and gaming (mainly). It will be in a room that for the majority is very well lit. Any options? Also I know that with that, I will need surround sound and a receiver so suggestions for those are greatly appreciated as well. Thank You, Bryan

Answer:
There are lots of choices. Which is BEST for you should be your decision and based on the factors that matter most to you. For example, budget (you specified up to $1000), intended use(s), brightness, resolution, whether you want/need 3D capability, size/weight, contrast ratio, input type/number, warranty, cost of replacement lamp. You will NOT like a projector in a bright "well lit" ... the picture will be faded out (unless viewed on a special screen and/or a very bright model). Projectors are best in a dark, or at least dim, room. Also consider they have limited lamp life and those are expensive to replace. That said, a projector is a great way to see a BIG picture. But this isn't necessarily great for gaming unless you plan to have several players at the same time. See the links for a guide and sources of reviews and recommendations. Consider the Optoma GT750 ... it's aimed specifically at gamers, and gets good reviews for the $800 price (3rd link)

Hi, I think BenQ W1200 Projector is best for you, here are few Highlights of the equipment, Very bright overall, with exceptionally bright "best mode", and above average overall brightness Color performance is good, for the class, very good post calibration Better black level performance than most entry level priced projectors 2500/4000 lamp life - better than average but some competition does better still Built-in speaker - with reasonable sound! Picture In Picture, and side by side sources Solid feel, finish. Professional looking projector More lens zoom range than most of the competition - for better placement flexibility than competing DLP's but still no match for a good LCD in this regard - such as the Epson Home Cinema 8350 Physically small enough and light enough to double for portable business use Competent for business and education use, though primarily for home.
