How to connect DVD to computer?

How to connect computer to my DVD recorder?

  • I have many movies on my hard drive and I'd like to record them...i don't have or want a DVD burner for my computer. I can connect my computer to my LCD television...but it doesn't work when I try to record from it. What cables do I need so i can clear my hard drive of the 50 movies...

  • Answer:

I understand this is not what you want to hear, but really, the best way is to purchase a DVD burner for your computer. Maybe you aren't up on current prices -- a good one is about $28 these days (LG brand or Samsung from NCIX or other) Installation is very simple -- just replace your current DVD reader or CDROM drive. Open the case, take a digital photo of the back of the old drive, remove the screws, replace unit, replace the two cables. Very straightforward. If you're running WindowsXP or Vista, there won't be any driver issues or anything.
