Will American DVDs play in Morocco?

Is there any way to play PAL DVDs on American DVD player??

  • Hello. My Mum & friends got me, since I am a huge movie fan, quite a few DVDs on my way from Czech republic to USA. However when I tried to play any of them on my father's DVD player, i got the same result every time...the screen got so blurry that you couldn't follow anything. Then I noticed each DVD has a little sign "PAL" on it, and some have a little sign of a Globe with "2"or"2/4" written over it, the others have the same Glove with "ALL" over it. is there any way one can "decode" those at the DVD player...possibly at least those saying "ALL", i'd suppose? Or can I only play those at the computer....I mean, I can play them at least on the computer with DVD unit, right??!! Thanks a lot.

  • Answer:

They should play on a computer but be careful, the dvd drive will lock itself onto one of the formats after a few switches. As a movie freak who has movies sent to me from Europe that I can't get here, this is the player I use; http://oppodigital.com/dv981hd/dv981hd_features.html It plays both PAL and NTSC, any region and also upconverts. Great if your father has an HD tv.

You can use a computer to do that. Search for software that backs up dvds and edit video.
