Hooking up a home theatre speaker system without drilling holes in my wall?

  • I just bought an Insignia Home Theatre system and i was wondering how i would hook it up on the walls without putting holes into them, i can drill holes in the walls because it is a historic house and if i put a hole in the wall it would crack and make a giant hole. so is there a way to hang those up without damaging the walls.

  • Answer:

Our rear speakers are nestled on a shelf in a bookcase. You don't have to hang the speakers. Just get them behind you and slight above your head level.

I'm not sure about the size/weight of your speakers, but I've mounted some small satellite speakers using a product that is similar in nature to velcro. It differs from velcro in that instead of being comprised of a "fuzzy" piece and a "hook" piece, it is made up of two pieces that have stiff plastic prongs on each piece that interlock. The pieces are adhesive backed to allow attachment to the back of the speaker and the wall. (sorry for the poor description). I picked this stuff up at my local hardware store.

Get some small corner tables to place the speakers on, or you can get shelves and use alot of double sided tape but it will probably fall off after awhile.
