Here is the simple answer: you need three (3) HDMI cables. One to go from the PS3 to the AV receiver. One to go from the cable box to the AV receiver. One to go from the AV receiver to the TV. You have two HDMI IN ports, and one HDMI OUT port on the AV receiver. Plug an HDMI cable from the PS3 to the AV HDMI IN port, and from the cable box into the other AV HDMI IN port. The AV HDMI OUT port will go to the TV HDMI IN port. The TV will always be on the video input the HDMI cable from the AV receiver is hooked up to. The AV receiver is how you will change from the PS3 to the cable box and vice versa. Make sure and do a video reset on your PS3 so it gives you the best settings for the TV. To do a video reset (after everything is hooked up), put the PS3 in stand-by mode (red light on the front of the PS3) and hold the power button down until the PS3 beeps twice (about 5 seconds). This will reset the PS3 to the HDMI cable and automatically set your PS3 up with the best settings for your TV. You will also need to set the cable box up to use the HDMI cable, which will be in the settings menu. You don't need any further cables or equipment (I assume you have speakers with the AV receiver). Let me know if you have any further questions.

You have a very nice system to set up. Basically, your home theater system (BDV-IS1000) or what I will refer to as Receiver will act as the "control center" for your A/V system. You will be connecting your A/V gear to the receiver and then there will be one connection from the receiver to the TV. Your TV input will remain on the HDMI input source that you connect the output on your receiver to and you will control what source is being viewed on your TV with the receiver. For example, to change from the PS3 to watching cable, you will use the receiver remote to switch inputs, while your TV always stays on the input that your receiver is plugged into (like HDMI 1 or something). HDMI cables needed: 1. PS3 to Receiver 2. Cable Box to Receiver 3. Receiver to TV I would probably turn your TV volume down quite low and use the volume on the receiver as your master. Your blu-ray/DVD player is built-in to your receiver and labeled a home theater system and so you will not need any other cables - assuming that your system came with speaker cables for the 5.1 system. If not, then you will need 14 or 16 gauge speaker wire for the 5 speakers and a digital audio coaxial cable to send signal to your sub (if powered) or just speaker wire if not internally powered. (If the sub has a power cable then it is powered, if not, then it is passive). I could not find any good close-up pictures of the rear of your receiver and thus could not be more specific. Good luck and enjoy.

Why a DVD/BD receiver if you have already both in the PS3? You needed an A/V receiver but not another couple of players, if you get a receiver like , let`s say Onkyo you `ll have more video and audio options. You don`t need 3 HDMI cables, hook the PS3 directly to your TV and connect PS3 audio to receiver using optical cable, select on PS3 settings HDMI for video only and optical sound. Hook the cable box to receiver .

This should actually be fairly simple. 1) find the HDMI input on your tv 2) connect an HDMI 1.3 cable from your dvd/receiver combo to the HDMI port on your TV. 3) connect your ps3 to the HDMI in on the dvd/receiver combo 4) connect your cable box to the HDMI input on your dvd/receiver Hope this helps. if not send me a message :) You can also request more help from me at http://www.ehow.com/members/lucky214.html?view=3rd
