How to hook up subwoofer to Denon receiver?
-
I purchased a Pioneer - 8" 100-Watt Powered Subwoofer SW-8 today from best buy and told them i had just bought a Denon AVR-791, he told me to buy basic red and white cables and plug them into the subwoofer and plug the other end into the any of the ports in the receiver. I can't get the subwoofer to work and i noticed the reciever doesn't have a audio out or im missing something. The guy at Best Buy made it sound simple.

Answer:
Denon's website indicates that this reciever has a sub-pre-out put but the picture is so bad that I can't tell (the rest of their site is pretty awful too) I'm sure you would have noticed if it had a connection that said "sub" or "pre-out"??? If not you will need something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Audio-Analog-Converter/dp/B0013LWK3A to get from one of the digital outputs to your sub. Hope this helps..
